A basic course in wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (WD-XRF) is being held twice a year in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. This new basic course XRF organised by AJK Analytical Services and Avans+ in cooperation with Philips Lighting. These courses can be attended by everybody interested in XRF as a technology or working at any of the various systems.
The first edition of this course has already successfully taken place in June 2008 - attended by participants from 7 different companies in both the Netherlands and Belgium.
To ensure that participants can individually get their need of information satisfied, the number of participants per course are typically limited to 8 persons. This allows individual and efficient learning while at the same time providing a platform for information exchange among each other.
After the first event, the participants gave a generally good feedback about the course quality and content together with their suggestions of what they would like to see improved concerning organization, content and facility of the event.
"The first trainings and especially the interactions with the course participants are very important to us," says Dr. A.J. Kinneging (AJK Analytical Services). “It is here where we hear what the XRF needs of the industry really are, what they want to learn and improve and what their real problems and challenges in applying the technique are. This helps us to keep our courses, trainings and seminars focused, up-to-date and in line with today's demanding processes."
The next dates for the XRF course have already been set: 17-19 November 2008 on the premises of Philips lighting in Eindhoven. Since the number of participants is limited early registration is recommended.
